AYR SEX OFFENDER SENT SNAPCHAT MESSAGES TO UNDERCOVER POLICE
A SEX offender was caught sending indecent messages to a '13-year-old girl' - who was in fact an undercover police officer.Christopher Bradley admitted sending the sexual messages after telling the 'child' he was a 'cuddler'.
He turned on his heels and bolted back inside the court building when he was pictured after pleading guilty at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, November 24.
The 55-year-old admitted sending messages to a person he believed to be a child aged between 13 and 16 at his address in Montgomerie Terrace on August 21 last year.
Bradley admitted sending messages to a person he believed to be a child, who had attained the age of 13 but not 16, 'intentionally and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification or of humiliating, distressing or alarming' them.
The prosecutor described how an undercover officer set up a profile on Snapchat on August 21, 2024, and came across Bradley, who used his mobile number.
Bradley described himself as a 43-year-old male, while the officer described themselves as a 13-year-old girl.
He called her 'princess' and called himself a 'cuddler', expressing a desire to be close and give her a cuddle.
He asked when her mum would be home and said 'wish you were here'.
When asked why he wished her there, he replied 'to make you feel nice' and 'I would love to be next to you now'.
He also said 'You will soon know how turned on' and asked 'what are you wearing?' Officers attended his property with a search warrant, leading to his arrest.
Sentencing was deferred for reports and a risk assessment, with Bradley now subject to the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act.
Bail was continued, and he will return to court at a later date.
