MET POLICE SERGEANT FIRED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ABUSE
A Metropolitan Police sergeant named Chris Allonby has been dismissed from the force after a misconduct hearing found him guilty of assaulting his former partner in 2018, 2019, and 2021.The assaults, which took place while he was off-duty, were part of a pattern of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse, including coercive control and harassment.
The misconduct panel concluded that Sgt Allonby's actions breached standards relating to authority, respect, and courtesy, and were discreditable conduct, amounting to gross misconduct.
Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah stated, "Sgt Chris Allonby exhibited consistently unacceptable and wholly inappropriate behaviour.
It is right he faced disciplinary action and is no longer a part of the Metropolitan Police Service." The officer will now be placed on the College of Policing's barred list, preventing him from future employment within police and related agencies.
The article emphasizes the bravery of his ex-partner for speaking out and enabling disciplinary action.
