EDINBURGH SUPPORT WORKER TRIED TO KISS RESIDENT WITHOUT CONSENT
A Creepy Edinburgh support worker, Chinenye Nevobasi, attempted to kiss a supported person without her consent.Nevobasi was brought before the Scottish Social Services Council following multiple incidents while employed by Almond Blossom Care Limited.
On or around March 15, 2024, Nevobasi held a supported person's head and clutched her cheeks before trying to kiss her on the mouth without consent.
A month later, around April 2, Nevobasi allegedly tried to kiss the resident again and lifted her breasts by the nipples to wash her.
She also squeezed the person's cheeks to make her pout and on April 30, behaved in a sexually provocative manner, shaking her hips and moving her bottom towards the resident.
Nevobasi made inappropriate comments, asked the resident to 'smack' her, and said, 'look at me mama.' The resident's daughter raised concerns about boundaries in May and June, with Nevobasi making further inappropriate comments and saying, 'now I cannot lie with you,' among other breaches.
The Scottish Social Services Council reviewed her conduct, describing it as a failure to respect the resident's views and wishes, and noted her attempts to make physical contact without consent and to undermine her dignity.
Nevobasi was given a warning to stay on the registration for 12 months.
She fully cooperated during the investigation.
Almond Blossom Care was approached for comment.
