RENFREWSHIRE CARE HOME WORKER CARRIED OUT SEX ATTACK ON COLLEAGUE
A Renfrewshire care home worker has avoided a jail sentence after sexually assaulting a colleague.Chidera Anorue was found guilty by a jury at Paisley Sheriff Court of sexually assaulting a female colleague.
Anorue, of Crowhill Street in Glasgow, sexually assaulted a woman on November 30, 2024 at the facility.
The jury found the 40-year-old guilty of entering a room where the woman was asleep and when she was awake, he placed his hand inside her clothing and touched her buttocks and breast.
Sheriff Brian Mohan stated: “Your case proceeded to trial and I heard evidence from a number of witnesses.
“It was plain from your employers you were valued as a worker.
“This was a sexual assault and there’s no getting away from that.
“This caused the woman significant upset.
“You did accept in an interview with your employers you’d done wrong and you said you’d misread the signals but this is more than that.” Sheriff Mohan made Anorue subject to supervision of the social work department for 12 months, in addition, he must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the community.
Anorue was also placed on the sex offender’s register for 12 months.
