COWDENBEATH WOMAN JAILED FOR HITTING EX-PARTNER WITH BRICK
A woman named Charlotte Spinks, aged 27 and residing on Rae Street, Cowdenbeath, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court after being involved in an incident where she hit her ex-partner with a brick. She had previously been subject to a non-harassment order which she breached by visiting her former partner.
During the altercation, Spinks and her ex-partner argued, and she threw a brick from a distance of about eight feet, striking him on the back.
The incident occurred at Thistle Industrial Estate, Church Street.
The court heard that she had also breached bail conditions not to approach or contact her ex.
Witnesses noted that she was becoming increasingly enraged, and she threw her house key onto a neighbour's roof before hurling the brick.
The brick hit her ex-partner, causing him pain, and she then ran off, allegedly aiming at a colleague but hitting her ex by mistake.
The prosecution, represented by Deputy Fiscal Mat Piskorz, stated that this was a violent assault following an argument.
Spinks's defence solicitor argued that she was not aiming at her ex-partner, despite the seriousness of her actions.
The sheriff sentenced her to 10 months in prison and imposed a non-harassment order for three years.
