BRISTOL MAN CARL BROWN FROM HARTCLIFFE SENTENCED FOR GROOMING TEENAGE GIRL
In a case that has shocked the local community, Carl Brown, a 24-year-old man from Hartcliffe, was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison after being found guilty of grooming a 14-year-old girl and engaging in sexual activities with her.The incident has left a profound impact on the victim and her family, highlighting the dangers of online predators and the importance of vigilance.

One particularly harrowing moment occurred in the summer of 2016 when the girl was so distressed that she broke down in tears at school and confided in her teachers about what had happened.
This disclosure prompted the involvement of law enforcement authorities.
The police conducted a thorough investigation, which included examining Facebook messages exchanged between Brown and the girl, providing concrete evidence of the grooming and sexual activity.
The mother expressed her anguish, stating, “He really could have targeted anyone and he has left her suffering so much.” She emphasized the importance of awareness and caution, urging parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online interactions carefully.
“It is hard, but we’ve been trying to rebuild our lives since this happened,” she added.
She also highlighted the emotional toll on her daughter, who was once outgoing but has become more reserved and cautious after the ordeal.
Brown appeared at Bristol Crown Court on Monday, June 26, where he admitted to the charges.
The court sentenced him to nearly four years in prison and ordered him to register as a sex offender.
