Father responsible for tragic death of 12-week-old son commits suicide

FATHER RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAGIC DEATH OF 12-WEEK-OLD SON COMMITS SUICIDE

A parent has been responsible for the death of his 12-week-old son, Hudson Bibby, who was found unresponsive in the father's house.

An inquest determined that Hudson died from severe shaken baby syndrome, which caused retinal bleeding, spinal cord and brain hemorrhages, and was then thrown onto a surface, resulting in instant death.

The child's father, Carl Bibby, was found dead near a bridge after having taken his own life early the next day.

Police investigations suggest that Carl Bibby was responsible for Hudson’s murder and that if he had not ended his own life, he would likely have been charged with his son's murder.

The mother, Rachel Surtees, expressed her grief, stating that her son was unlawfully killed by his father and that she has been left devastated "completely changed" by the tragedy.

She also revealed that police indicated Carl Bibby would have faced charges if he had not taken his own life.

Rachel described Hudson as a child who was full of love and expressed her enduring pain and anger over her son’s death, stating, "He murdered my beautiful little boy.

He’s robbed Hudson of his life, me of my son, and my children seeing him grow up.

And I hope he rots in hell." She shared her ongoing struggles with PTSD, nightmares, health anxiety, and her grief, emphasizing that she will never get over Hudson's death and that her grief has transformed her worldview.
