ABINGDON MAN CAMERON EVANS JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND KNIFE POSSESSION
After attacking a woman and pursuing her with a kitchen knife, a man has been given a prison sentence.Cameron Evans, aged 30 and without a fixed address, admitted guilt to charges including assault causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating, and possession of a bladed object in a public place.
On Monday, March 18, at Oxford Crown Court, he received a two-year prison term.
The court was informed that between 7am and 10am on September 29 of the previous year, Evans entered the residence of his victim in Drayton.
He then physically assaulted her by slapping and punching her in the face, neck, and back, and struck her on the head with a crutch.
Although the victim managed to get away, Evans pursued her with a kitchen knife.
Multiple witnesses observed the incident, leading to Evans’s quick arrest.
Detective Constable Leah Boswell from the Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit commented: 'Evans subjected his victim to a terrifying experience over several hours, resulting in injuries.
I am glad he received a custodial sentence for his actions.
