A man from Waterloo who subjected his victim to a two-year pattern of assault and harassment has been sentenced to prison.
Callum Jones, 24 years old and residing on Murat Grove in Waterloo, received a custodial sentence of four years and six months at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, 13 January.
The charges included assault causing actual bodily harm, battery, criminal damage, and harassment.
In addition to his prison term, Jones was issued a 15-year restraining order aimed at preventing any further contact with his victim.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Jones had committed multiple offences.
These included repeated physical assaults, non-fatal strangulation, damaging property, engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour, issuing threats to kill, making threats towards children, and persistent harassment.
The victim reported numerous incidents to Merseyside Police, which involved physical attacks that required hospital treatment, threats directed at her family, and vandalism of her residence.
Jones was subsequently arrested and formally charged in 2025.
