NEWBURY - MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH A CHILD
A man received a sentence of less than two years in prison after soliciting 'sexual acts' from a teenage boy and violating a court order designed to prevent such behavior.Callum Farmbrough, 24 years old and residing on Craven Road in Newbury, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday, July 13, to one year and eight months behind bars.
He admitted to charges on May 8, including engaging in sexual communication with a minor and breaching a risk of sexual harm prevention order.
According to police reports, between March 1 and May 7, Farmbrough requested a teenage boy to perform sexual acts and send explicit images online for his own sexual satisfaction.
This conduct also violated the court-imposed prevention order issued on June 18 of the previous year.
He was taken into custody on May 7 and formally charged the following day.
Detective Constable Kate Sidwell commented that Farmbrough’s imprisonment is justified due to his online sexual communications with a minor for personal gratification and his breach of the court order.
She noted that he has a prior record of similar offenses, including a 2025 conviction for engaging in sexual communication with a child, grooming, paying for sexual acts from a boy aged 13 to 15, and sending explicit images.
He was released on license earlier this year in January.
