NEWBURY DISABLED CHILDREN SUPPORT WORKER THOMAS ROSS CAUGHT IN ONLINE CHILD SEX STING
A support worker employed at a residential care home in Newbury for children with learning difficulties has been arrested after being caught in an online child sex sting carried out by the Red Rose UK.Thomas Ross was targeted after Red Rose UK intercepted sexual communications between Ross and three children online — one aged 13 and two aged 14.
I am Ollie, founder of Red Rose UK, and I was directly involved in this sting.
After evidence was secured, Ross was confronted at his home address by myself alongside Zack from the Predator Awareness team.
During the confrontation, Ross initially denied any involvement, appearing visibly nervous and shaken.
That denial quickly collapsed.
Ross then made a full admission.
The arrest is particularly disturbing given Ross’s professional role working with vulnerable children, many of whom have learning difficulties and rely on adults in positions of trust for their safety.
Police were called immediately following the confrontation.
Ross was arrested by Hampshire Police, questioned, and later released on bail pending further investigations.
The case remains active pending a full digital phone download and cycomms applications.
This incident once again exposes how individuals seeking sexual access to children often operate from positions of trust, hiding behind respected job titles while targeting minors online.
Red Rose UK continues to work alongside police forces across the UK to identify offenders, secure evidence, and safeguard children.
