CALLUM BEITH FROM PAISLEY ARRESTED FOR CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION AND EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY

A young man from Paisley, identified as Callum Beith, has been taken into custody following the discovery of a disturbing collection of illegal images and videos depicting child sexual exploitation and abuse. The investigation revealed that Beith possessed over 500 images that involved the sexual abuse of children, some as young as one year old, with categories ranging from A to C, indicating varying degrees of severity. During the police operation, authorities also uncovered videos labeled as "extreme pornography," which depicted adult males and females engaging in sexual acts with animals, including dogs, fish, and poultry.

Police executed a raid on Beith’s family home located on Main Road in Paisley on February 16 of the previous year. The search was conducted with the consent of his mother, who allowed officers to enter the residence. Inside, law enforcement officers discovered multiple electronic devices, including two iPads, an Apple laptop, five iPhones, and a Toshiba hard drive. Beith initially attempted to hide additional devices, but a routine Wi-Fi check led officers to locate a device that had not been initially surrendered. During questioning, Beith admitted to the existence of a hidden iPhone, prompting a comprehensive cybercrime investigation.

Further examination of the devices revealed that Beith had been in possession of these illicit images and videos from September 2018 through February 2024. Among the recovered material were 40 images explicitly depicting children being sexually exploited and abused. Some images had been deleted during the investigation, but enough evidence remained to establish the nature of his crimes. The images involved children aged between one and 12 years old, with some categorized as Category A, the most severe form of child exploitation imagery. Additionally, authorities found seven videos classified as extreme pornography, which involved sexual acts with animals, including dogs, fish, and poultry.

Callum Beith has admitted to possessing these indecent images and videos, and he pleaded guilty to charges related to the possession of child exploitation material and extreme pornography involving animals. Following his arrest, he was remanded on bail and is scheduled to appear in court again in July for sentencing. Prior to sentencing, a full background check and risk assessment will be conducted, including social work evaluations. The presiding judge indicated that Beith will be placed on the Sex Offender’s Register and that additional reports will be prepared to inform the sentencing process, emphasizing the seriousness of his crimes and the potential risk he poses to the community.
