MONK DETAINED OVER ALLEGED HISTORIC SEXUAL MISCONDUCT ON CALDEY ISLAND
A monk from an island off the coast of south Wales has been detained following allegations of non-recent sexual assault and harassment.Brother Titus Keet, aged 76, residing on Caldey Island, was taken into custody after Dyfed-Powys Police received a report on 18 September.
Caldey Island, situated near Tenby in Pembrokeshire, is inhabited by a community of Cistercian monks.
The monastic community on the island expressed their concern, stating they take these allegations very seriously.
In an official statement, they confirmed their full cooperation with police and emphasized their priority to ensure the wellbeing of all involved.
The community urged anyone with safeguarding concerns to contact the police or their safeguarding officer.
Since the investigation is ongoing, they refrained from further comments but requested prayers for all parties involved, especially the vulnerable individuals.
