A man subjected his girlfriend to a violent assault, forcing her head into a washing machine and shutting the door, then dragging her through broken glass and pouring bleach on her belongings.Bobby McKenley also damaged household items and her children's toys during the incident.
The attack followed an argument about his alleged infidelity while she was pregnant, although he later claimed she had damaged herself.
Later, he made over 250 calls to her in a single day, causing her hair to fall out.
McKenley, of Warrington, appeared in court charged with multiple offenses.
The incident occurred on May 16 last year, when a dispute over infidelity escalated into violence.
Prosecutors described how he damaged a kitchen light and destroyed personal items, then forcibly restrained her by putting her head into the washing machine.
Afterward, she tried to calm the situation by going to bed, but he followed her, causing her to fall between the mattress and headboard.
He then placed his foot on her neck, making her struggle to breathe.
When she locked herself in the bathroom, he broke in, threw her around, and inflicted a black eye.
He also dragged her through broken glass, destroyed a photo album of her children and ex-boyfriends, and poured bleach on her clothing and furniture.
In interviews, McKenley claimed she was abusive and had caused the damage herself.
After being released under investigation, he made 257 calls to her in one day, making threats including kidnapping their child.
Ms Webster, in a statement read to court, expressed her fear and pain, revealing that her hair was falling out and that she felt deeply hurt.
He has a criminal history with 19 previous convictions, including a suspended sentence for cannabis possession.
His defense argued that he has positive attributes, aims to be a good father and support his family, and that he has used his time in custody productively.
McKenley admitted to multiple charges including assault causing actual bodily harm, strangulation, criminal damage, harassment, and breaching a suspended sentence.
He was sentenced to two years and four months in prison and received a 10-year restraining order.
The judge described the incident as a sustained attack that caused significant trauma to Ms Webster.
