EDINBURGH MAN JAILED FOR DECADES OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
A woman named Louise Clinton, aged 32, has publicly revealed her traumatic childhood, during which she was sexually assaulted repeatedly by her brother-in-law, Billy King Junior, from the age of six.King was married to Louise's sister and preyed on her whenever she stayed at their home during her childhood in Edinburgh.
The abuse often occurred six to seven times a month, with King convincing her "it's what happens to all your friends".
Louise, who has waived her right to anonymity, detailed her experiences including him assaulting her at his home, threatening her with violence if she told anyone, and systematically abusing her over a period of seven years.
A particularly disturbing incident involved King demanding her to perform a sex act in front of her three-year-old nephew.
She recounted that he threatened to kill her if she spoke out, and took every opportunity to assault her when they were alone.
Louise eventually shared her story publicly after years of silence, and King was found guilty last month of multiple child sex charges, including forcing her to perform sex acts.
Although some charges like rape were not proven due to lack of evidence, King was convicted of three counts of child sex abuse and also of raping another victim, Dana Fowley, who also waived her anonymity.
The court has scheduled his sentencing for July 8.
Louise described her feelings of brokenness and guilt, explaining how she did not disclose the abuse until she was 26, when she confided in her father on his deathbed.
She also noted that King was questioned over other allegations two decades ago but claimed they were consensual.
Her account includes detailed descriptions of the abuse, threats, and her emotional trauma, with mention of her current life as a mother of two and her ongoing mental health struggles.
The article emphasizes her bravery in coming forward and highlights the severity of King’s crimes.
