MAN JAILED AFTER ACCESSING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
Benjamin Linard, residing on Old Mill Terraces in Beccles, has been re-incarcerated after authorities uncovered that he accessed indecent images of children on his mobile device.
On March 6, at Ipswich Crown Court, the 36-year-old received a 28-month prison sentence following a guilty plea to violations of his Sexual Harm Protection Order (SHPO) as well as three counts of possessing indecent images of minors.
Linard's criminal history includes a 2017 conviction for creating and sharing child exploitation images, possessing prohibited material, and viewing extreme pornography involving animals.
At that time, he received a 20-month jail term, was placed on the Violent and Sex Offenders Register (ViSOR) for ten years, and was subject to an indefinite SHPO.
After serving his sentence, he was under supervision by the Public Protection Unit.
His recent arrest occurred on February 6, 2025, when police responded to reports that he had accessed illicit images on his phone.
During the search, officers recovered one Category A image, three Category B images, and three Category C images, along with evidence of deleted internet searches related to child abuse.
Linard was formally charged in October 2025.
