BENJAMIN HOLLINS FROM DYMOCK AND LEDBURY CAUGHT BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the local communities of Dymock and Ledbury, Benjamin Hollins, a man previously residing on New Street in Ledbury, was apprehended after attempting to establish contact with underage girls through online platforms. The incident was uncovered by vigilant paedophile hunters who employed fake Facebook profiles to lure and identify individuals engaging in inappropriate communications with minors.Hollins, aged 25, was formally arraigned at Worcester Crown Court, where he admitted to four counts of attempted sexual communication with a child. These charges stemmed from a series of interactions that took place over several months, with the earliest recorded between March 3 and March 23 of the year, and subsequent incidents on December 13 of the previous year, February 26 to March 3 of this year, and finally on March 24. The court proceedings revealed that the messages sent via Facebook Messenger were described as 'sexually inappropriate' in nature, indicating a clear attempt to engage minors in sexual conversations.
During the hearing, it was disclosed that Hollins had previously resided on New Street in Ledbury but now has a curfew address in Western Way, Dymock, Gloucestershire. The court was told that Hollins had engaged in manipulative and predatory behaviour, targeting young girls he believed to be vulnerable. Judge Martin Jackson condemned his actions, describing them as 'really quite unpleasant' and emphasizing the manipulative tactics used by Hollins to lure his victims.
Furthermore, the judge highlighted that Hollins had threatened to take his own life if the girls did not respond to his messages. He later claimed that his Facebook account had been 'hacked,' an assertion that the court considered as part of his attempt to evade responsibility. The case was adjourned until September 25 to allow for the presentation of medical records, with the judge cautioning Hollins that the final sentencing outcome would be determined by the court and could be severe.
Hollins was granted bail under strict conditions. He is required to remain at his Gloucestershire address and adhere to an electronically monitored curfew from 9 pm to 7 am. Additionally, he is prohibited from attending any address in Ledbury and must not have any contact with children under 16 through the internet or social media unless supervised by an approved social services representative. He is also barred from engaging in any paid or unpaid activities that involve contact with minors under the age of 16, reflecting the serious nature of his offences and the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable children from potential harm.
