GILLINGHAM: MAN WHO DRANK WHISKY AS PARTNER LAY DEAD JAILED
Benjamin Bowler has been convicted and given a life sentence for the murder of his partner, Kelly Price, at their residence in Gillingham, Kent, on 16 January 2020.The 41-year-old strangled the 39-year-old Ms Price after consuming large quantities of alcohol and drugs.
His guilt was determined after a trial at Maidstone Crown Court, resulting in a minimum term of 17 years before parole eligibility.
Evidence showed that Bowler drank a bottle of whisky while Ms Price was already deceased in the property.
He later admitted to an acquaintance during a phone call that he had killed his girlfriend.
Kent Police responded to the scene and confirmed Ms Price’s death in a bedroom.
The court’s decision emphasized Bowler’s violent conduct and the role of substance abuse as contributing factors to the case.
