BENJAMIN BLU PRICE SENTENCED FOR VIOLENCE IN NEATH: A SAGA OF SADISM AND ABUSE

Benjamin Blu Price, a man with a deeply troubling and sadistic disposition, has been formally sentenced following a series of violent and abusive acts directed at his pregnant partner in Neath. The court heard harrowing details of the prolonged abuse that spanned over four months, during which Price subjected his partner to a range of brutal and degrading acts. Among these, he poured boiling water over her arm, causing severe burns, and engaged in physical assaults that left lasting scars.

Throughout this period, Price's behavior was marked by extreme violence and cruelty. He bit her on the face, slapped her repeatedly, and pushed her around in a manner that left her feeling like a mere shell of herself. The court was also informed that he had physically restrained her in a bear hug from behind, then dragged her to the ground while roaring like an animal into her ear, further demonstrating his aggressive and animalistic tendencies. Despite his violent actions, Price often attempted to shift blame onto his partner, claiming she provoked his outbursts, even as he professed love for her.

His violent streak was not limited to his partner. On June 15, 2020, while already under investigation for attacking a man with an axe, Price committed another assault in Neath, this time wielding an axe against a different individual, which resulted in a permanent scar. During the investigation into that attack, he entered into a new relationship with a pregnant woman, and it was during this relationship that his abusive conduct escalated further. He repeatedly assaulted her, biting her face, dragging her by her hair, stomping on her feet, and smashing her phone and car in fits of rage.

The culmination of his violent behavior occurred on September 6, 2021. During a heated argument, Price poured hot water over his pregnant partner’s arm, causing a scald measuring approximately 10 centimeters by 10 centimeters. The injury was severe enough to warrant arrest. During his subsequent court appearance, Price denied responsibility for the injuries, instead blaming her and claiming she had inflicted the burns herself. The court noted that Price had a long history of violence, including previous convictions for grievous bodily harm, assault, and criminal damage. In total, he had nine prior convictions covering fourteen offenses.

The judge described Price as having “one of the most uncontrollable tempers” he had encountered and characterized his nature as “sadistic,” emphasizing the significant danger he posed to others. The court sentenced him to a total of 14 years in prison. This included a four-year sentence for domestic violence and criminal damage, with an additional ten-year extended sentence as a dangerous offender for the axe attack. The judge also highlighted that Price had shown no remorse for his past actions and remained a substantial threat to society, especially given his pattern of violence and cruelty.
