PSYCHO STALKER SENTENCED TO DIE BEHIND BARS.
Crazed Scots stalker Arthur Jackson was yesterday condemned to die behind bars.He was ordered to be detained indefinitely for killing a have-a-go hero 30-years ago.
Aberdeen-born Jackson, 61, gunned down former Guardsman Anthony Fletcher, 33, as he tried to stop him robbing a London bank in 1967.
Jackson later stalked Hollywood starlet Theresa Saldana — and was jailed for trying to butcher her in a brutal knife attack.
He shrugged his shoulders at the Old Bailey yesterday as he was sent to maximum security Broadmoor mental hospital, in Berkshire.
Jackson, who admitted manslaughter, may be sent to Carstairs at a later date.
The judge, Mr Justice Potts, told him: 'You are an exceptionally dangerous man.' Jackson shot Mr.
Fletcher through the heart after stealing pounds 130 at gunpoint.
The dead man, dubbed Britain's first have-a-go hero, was posthumously awarded the George Medal.
Jackson confessed to the murder years later after he was caged in America.
He went to the States in 1982 after becoming obsessed with Saldana when he saw her in Raging Bull at an Aberdeen cinema.
Jackson stalked her for weeks in Los Angeles before stabbing her 15 times in a frenzied attack.
Despite losing 27 pints of blood, the actress survived and Jackson was later jailed for 14 years.
Another five years were added when he vowed to finish the job on release.
He was extradited back to Britain last summer.
Mr.
Fletcher's widow, Valerie, and her three children sat silently in court as Jackson was sent to the cells.
Later, Valerie said she feared Jackson would persuade doctors he was fit to be freed some day.
And her son Jason, 31, said: 'I wanted him to be told that he would be in jail for the rest of his natural life.
Justice hasn't been done.'
