EDINBURGH MAN JAILED FOR REPEATED CHILD SEX OFFENSES
An Edinburgh man named Arron Kossatz, aged 20, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for multiple sex crimes. He repeatedly raped a 13-year-old girl who was intoxicated at a flat in Leith and continued to offend against children after being released on bail.
Kossatz also engaged in unlawful sex with another teenager in Leith and committed underage sex with a third girl, also aged 13.
He was convicted following an earlier trial and has been held in custody since.
The court heard that Kossatz targeted vulnerable girls, and the judge stated, “It is clear, both from these offences and the background information that I have before me, that you have a well-established predilection for sexual activity with female children.” The judge also commented that Kossatz showed no remorse, declined responsibility, and lacked empathy for his victims.
To further protect the community, he was ordered to be supervised for an additional four years.
Background reports indicated that Kossatz came from a dysfunctional environment and had limited understanding of the impact of his actions, with his defense counsel describing him as immature and often reliant on others for daily functioning.
