MAN, 21, INVOLVED IN BRUTAL ASSAULT ON GIRLFRIEND IN WHITEHAVEN
A court has heard that Anthony Kyles, 21, of Criffel Road, was involved in a violent incident following an argument after he returned home from shopping.
Prosecutor Cath McClenan explained that during the altercation, Kyles pulled his girlfriend, Laura Farish, out of the bath by her hair and then punched her in the nose, which resulted in her nose bursting.
Mrs McClenan stated, "Miss Farish was on the bed and the defendant then repeatedly hit her in the head." In a previous hearing, Miss Farish admitted that she did not want Kyles punished, claiming her behavior had provoked him.
Kyles's solicitor, Neil Pilling, said, "My client has learned from the incident and knows he has to walk away in future," denying the specifics of pulling her out of the bath and punching her on the bed.
Kyles was sentenced to a 12-month community order with supervision and was ordered to pay £43 in costs.
