DEWSBURY MAN SLAMS PARTNER'S WRIST INTO DOOR DURING ROW OVER TEXTS
Anthony Harrop, a 33-year-old man, was involved in an incident where he assaulted his partner during a heated argument triggered by discovering she had been texting another male.
The victim stated that their relationship had ended and she wanted him to leave her alone.
Harrop seized her mobile phone and, as she tried to leave, he slammed a door onto her wrist.
He has since been issued a one-year restraining order, which bans him from contacting her.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay her £50 in compensation, along with a £40 fine, £85 court costs, and a £30 victim surcharge.
During the court hearing, Paul Blanchard, representing Harrop, described the incident as 'isolated' and explained that Harrop’s anger was sparked by a phone conversation with the victim's friend, suggesting that he wanted to verify if she was unfaithful.
The magistrates emphasized that there was no desire for reconciliation and took measures to protect the victim.
