WORCESTER BEEKEEPER JAILED FOR 14 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A WORCESTER beekeeper found guilty of nine child sex offences has been jailed for 14 years.
Anthony Blewett, of Selborne Road, Barbourne, had denied five charges of indecent assault and four charges of indecency with a child.
During the trial at Worcester Crown Court, the court heard how Blewett had abused two girls starting in March 2002, with one victim being just seven years old when he began indecently assaulting her.
The court described how both women, now adults, had detailed the trauma inflicted by Blewett, including thoughts of ending their lives, night terrors, and ongoing trust issues.
The judge sentenced Blewett to 14 years and stated he would serve two-thirds of that before considering parole, with an extended license post-release.
Blewett was also told no mitigation existed due to his age of 65.
The judge emphasized that no child should grow up experiencing such abuse and highlighted the significant impact on the victims' lives.
