ANDREW NEAVE BRUTALLY ATTACKS MOTHER ON STAIRCASE IN DUNDEE CITY

A disturbing incident unfolded in Dundee City where Andrew Neave, aged 26, committed a violent assault that has left a lasting impact on a mother and her young children. The incident occurred on a staircase, where Neave subjected a terrified woman to a brutal attack while she was holding her newborn in a pram.

Neave, who has a recent criminal history, was previously sentenced to 28 months in prison for a vicious assault in Montrose, which left a pub-goer lying unconscious in a pool of blood. Despite this, he appeared in court at Forfar Sheriff Court on Thursday, where he received an additional nine-month sentence to be served consecutively. The charges included assault on his former partner, a woman who is 27 years old.

The victim recounted her harrowing experience, revealing that she had been in a relationship with Neave for approximately a year and a half. She described his behavior as increasingly abusive, which had her living in constant fear and walking on eggshells. She explained, “Every relationship has problems but it got to a point where I just kept quiet to keep the peace.”

The incident in June of the previous year marked a breaking point for her. She shared that she had just given birth to their daughter via cesarean section 11 days prior and was still recovering from the physical pain associated with the procedure. She vividly recalled the events of that day, stating, “He woke up that morning in a foul mood – and just went off on one, starting to smash the place up.”

In her account, she described how she quickly moved to protect her children. “When he smashed the stereo, I put a jacket on my eldest and got the kids out as quickly as I could,” she said. The ordeal was traumatic and she described it as a moment she would never forget. She explained that she had to navigate two flights of stairs with the pram, which was a difficult task given her recent surgery.

As she was descending the stairs, Neave came up behind her and grabbed the pram. She attempted to free it from his grip, but he responded by saying, “that’s assault,” before grabbing her by the neck and kicking her in the stomach. She was already in pain from her recent operation, and the kick caused her intense agony. Despite her suffering, she desperately tried to hold onto the pram, fearing for her children’s safety. The entire ordeal left her and her children petrified, with the trauma of the attack lingering long after the incident.
