ANDREW FORSYTH SHOCKING CRIME IN KIRKCALDY: INFANT ABUSE IN FIFE REVEALED
Andrew Forsyth, also known as Andrew Mackay, appeared before Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court via video link to face sentencing after being remanded in custody.The hearing took place before Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane, following the jury's verdict earlier this month that found Forsyth guilty of serious criminal charges.
Forsyth, aged 39 and residing at Glenderval Place in Glenrothes, was convicted of assaulting two young children over a period spanning from 2016 to 2018.
The assaults resulted in severe injuries to the infants and posed a significant threat to their lives.
The court heard that the assaults occurred at various properties across Fife, including locations within Kirkcaldy.
During the sentencing, Sheriff McFarlane expressed her disbelief at Forsyth’s account of the events.
She stated that his version of what transpired was not credible in the eyes of the police, hospital staff, jurors, or herself.
The sheriff explicitly told Forsyth, “I have no idea – and this report does not help me – no idea, what was going through your head or your heart as you squeezed so hard that you fractured not just one, not just two, but multiple ribs and caused damage to the liver.” The case has shocked the local community in Kirkcaldy and the wider Fife area, highlighting the severity of the injuries inflicted on the vulnerable infants and the disturbing nature of the crimes committed by Forsyth.
The court proceedings have brought to light the brutal reality of child abuse cases and the importance of justice for victims in such heinous acts.
