ANATTA NERGUI DOCTOR CONVICTED OF STALKING
Dr.Anatta Nergui was found guilty in Glasgow Sheriff Court for sending a woman numerous messages on March 18, 2020, that discussed sensitive topics such as rape and murder.
Following his guilty plea to multiple charges, including resisting arrest, he was sentenced to an 18-month supervision order and ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
The case was revisited on May 27 of the same year, during which the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) reported that there was no evidence of any recurrence of Nergui’s problematic behavior.
They observed that he had gained greater insight and undertaken appropriate corrective measures, which reduced the likelihood of future incidents.
The tribunal also noted that Nergui had been employed full-time by the Department of Work and Pensions, but expressed intentions to resume working in a hospital setting.
Based on the evidence, it was concluded that he was fit to practice medicine and that his suspension should be lifted.
The tribunal’s report stated that, considering his demonstrated insight, the low risk of repetition, and the time elapsed since the events, public confidence in the medical profession did not warrant declaring him impaired.
They also acknowledged that the ongoing proceedings had served as a corrective measure for Nergui and that the previously imposed sanctions emphasized the severity of his original misconduct.
