MOTHER FLEES THROUGH WINDOW AFTER EX-BOYFRIEND'S BRUTAL ASSAULT
A thug attacked his ex-partner in a jealous rage, a court has heard. His victim was forced to flee through a window as she feared for her safety, Stoke-on-TrentLive reports.
Khan, of Queen's Avenue in Tunstall, has been jailed for 46 weeks after he pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
This should lead to his immediate release, as he has already served the sentence on remand.
He was also made the subject of a restraining order, which prevents him from contacting his victim for 10 years.
Prosecutor Nick Tatlow said the victim had been in a five-year relationship with the defendant and have a child together.
He went to her home in Barks Drive, Norton, between 8pm and 9pm on July 2 last year and grabbed her phone.
Mr Tatlow said: "They argued.
He accused her of seeing someone else.
He lost his temper and stamped on her thigh.
"She stood up and backed away but fell to the floor.
He punched her face, hitting her wrist she raised to protect herself.
"He stamped on her shin.
She told him to f*** off.
He grabbed her hair and kicked her bottom causing horrendous pain.
"He eventually stopped.
The defendant tried to apologise.
He remained in the house.
There was more violence.
He struck her back and kicked her three times to her legs.
"While he was looking on her phone she escaped from the house by climbing through the window.
He left in his car." James Kumar, mitigating, said Khan had expressed remorse and regret.
Recorder Robert Smith said: "You were not welcome at her house.
You went around, you took her phone, you went through it and accused her of being with other men.
"You set about her, punched her to her wrist, kicked her, and stamped on her while she was on the floor.
She was forced to flee via a window to escape you and your violence.
For this nasty and unpleasant offence, immediate custody is inevitable."
