AMJID HUSSAIN FROM BLACKBURN JAILED FOR GROOMING UNDERAGE GIRLS IN MANCHESTER AND LEEDS
In a disturbing case that highlights the dangers of online grooming and exploitation, Amjid Hussain, a 38-year-old man from Blackburn, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of grooming underage girls and engaging in sexual activities with them. The case unfolded across multiple locations, including Manchester, Leeds, and the city centre hotels, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned over two years.
Hussain’s criminal activities came to light in July 2021, when authorities acted on a tip from a concerned passer-by.
The police raided a hotel room in Manchester and discovered Hussain in the company of a 15-year-old girl.
The discovery was a crucial breakthrough, leading to the seizure of several electronic devices.
These devices contained evidence of Hussain’s communication with two other schoolgirls via Snapchat, a popular social media platform, during the period from 2018 to 2020.
The court heard that Hussain had met one of these girls in person just weeks prior to his arrest, in a hotel in Leeds.
During this meeting, he offered her £300 and bought her vodka and cigarettes, all in exchange for sexual favors.
This act of coercion and manipulation underscored the calculated nature of his predatory conduct.
Hussain pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including grooming a child, engaging in sexual communication with a minor, and paying for sexual services from a girl under the age of 16.
His previous criminal record also came into focus; in 2014, he was handed a three-year supervision order after being caught kissing another 15-year-old girl on a bus, indicating a troubling pattern of behavior.
During sentencing, the judge condemned Hussain’s actions as a clear example of calculated manipulation aimed at vulnerable teenage girls.
The court imposed an extended sentence, reflecting the seriousness of his offenses.
Additionally, Hussain will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years and will remain on the sex offenders register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to prevent further harm.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online grooming and the importance of vigilance in protecting minors from exploitation.
Authorities continue to emphasize the need for awareness and proactive measures to combat such predatory behavior in communities across the UK.
