AMER ALDEII'S SHOCKING SEX ATTACK IN WREXHAM ALLEYWAY LEAVES TEENAGER TRAUMATIZED
In March 2019, a disturbing incident unfolded in Wrexham involving a man named Amer Aldeii, who was convicted of carrying out a sexual assault on a teenage girl in an alleyway.The assault took place in the early hours of September 9, 2018, as the victim was walking home from a nightclub in Wrexham.
Aldeii, a Syrian refugee residing on Lorne Street in Wrexham, targeted the 18-year-old girl during her solitary walk, following her for several minutes after she left the club.
According to court proceedings at Mold Crown Court, Aldeii approached the girl with the apparent intention of offering her a pizza and checking on her well-being.
However, his actions quickly escalated into a sexual assault.
The court heard that Aldeii followed her closely, observing her in a vulnerable state after she had been drinking.
Despite being within 100 yards of his own home, he was unable to control his urges and proceeded to assault her in the alleyway.
The incident was not brief; it lasted for several minutes, during which the girl, who was sitting down and trying to resist, did her best to prevent the assault.
She attempted to defend herself by scratching Aldeii’s face and grabbing her phone from the ground to activate an alarm.
During this distressing ordeal, she managed to call her friend, who was told, “I’ve nearly been raped,” and her mother, who was out searching for her in her pajamas after receiving the SOS call.
Two passers-by heard her cries for help—shouting “help” and “get off”—and intervened to assist her.
The victim’s account was supported by a victim impact statement read aloud by prosecuting barrister Anna Pope.
She described how her personality had changed since the attack; once bubbly, she now tends to keep to herself, constantly looking over her shoulder and clutching her phone, ready to call the police at any moment.
She also experiences flashbacks related to the assault.
During the trial, Aldeii was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault but was cleared of a charge of attempted rape.
He was represented by a Syrian interpreter during the proceedings.
The court heard that Aldeii claimed the encounter was consensual and expressed disbelief that he could be accused of rape, asserting, “I am happy with my wife and children and happy with my family life.
Why would I think to rape her, she consented to what I did?” Judge Niclas Parry sentenced Aldeii to five years in prison.
The judge described his actions as “the acts of a predator” and emphasized the severity of the crime.
Aldeii, aged 32, was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was subjected to an indefinite restraining order that prohibits him from approaching the victim in any way, including through social media.
The court also indicated that, following his release, Aldeii would most likely face deportation from the UK.
Judge Parry highlighted that although Aldeii was a man of good character with no prior convictions, his behavior in this case was deeply troubling.
He noted that the impact on the victim was profound, with her suffering emotional trauma and a significant change in her personality.
The sentence reflects the court’s recognition of the gravity of the offense and the need to protect the community from such predatory behavior.
