GLASGOW WOMAN JAILED FOR ONLINE STALKING AND HARASSMENT
Amanda Britt, a resident of the Priesthill area in Glasgow, has admitted to serious online stalking and harassment charges. She used her live streams on Facebook to insult Christina McKissock between November 26, 2018, and January 7, 2019, making derogatory comments and threats of violence against her.
Amanda pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to stalking, with the offence aggravated by prejudice related to sexual orientation.
The court was informed that she has a substantial criminal record.
Her lawyer stated: "There is a substantial record," and added that "there has been a change of circumstances since this offence as she gave birth to a daughter who is now a four-month-old." The sentence has been deferred for background reports and the outcome will be determined next month.
Amanda Britt was released on bail in the meantime.
Last year, she was jailed for four months at Dunfermline Sheriff Court following an outburst during her partner David Craigie’s trial, where she attempted to disrupt proceedings by mentioning his previous conviction for culpable homicide, the murder of Sonya Todd.
She was also cleared of assaulting a nurse at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in July 2018 and admitted punching security personnel in September 2018.
