DOCTOR JAILED FOR 16 YEARS FOR MURDERING WIFE
A physician who fatally stabbed his wife at their residence in Hertfordshire has received a prison sentence of at least 16 years. The case was addressed at Luton Crown Court, where 60-year-old retired General Practitioner Amad Jumaily was convicted of killing his wife June, who was 46 years old.
Court proceedings revealed that Jumaily had committed the murder after his wife left him and started a new relationship with another man.
Although Jumaily denied the charge of murder, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility.
The assault was witnessed by Mrs Jumaily's 18-year-old daughter and involved Jumaily hiring private detectives to monitor his wife and install a GPS tracker on her car.
Prosecutor Michael Speak explained that the detectives took photographs of her with another man, which provoked Jumaily's violent outburst.
He assaulted her when she came to their former marital home to discuss dividing their assets, stabbing her 20 times.
The court described the incident as stemming from a jealous outburst, with the judge condemning Jumaily's actions and emphasizing the emotional harm caused to the daughter.
Jumaily stated he lost control during the incident and described his wife as 'my lifeline, the love of my life.'
