ALLY DOUGLAS FROM SCONE BUSTS BAIL AND ATTACKS NEIGHBOUR IN DRUNKEN RAGE

A man from Scone, Perth, has been repeatedly bailed after a series of violent and threatening acts against his former partner.

Ally Douglas, residing on Stormont Road, faced multiple charges of domestic-related offences following incidents where he broke bail conditions by returning to his ex-partner’s home armed with a knife and shovel.

Previously admitting to a pattern of harassment and an attempt to force entry into her residence in August 2024, Douglas’s legal troubles continued when, on June 15, 2025, while still on bail and awaiting sentencing, he returned to the same address with a kitchen knife and shovel.

During this incident, he made repeated phone calls to the victim and tried to smash the windows while she and her two young children were forced to hide in a locked bathroom.

The court heard he was later restrained after he was found on the street, holding a traffic cone, which he then threw at the house’s window.

The victim and her partner had to barricade themselves inside a bathroom to escape.

In addition to these offences, Douglas, a former train conductor at Scotrail, was convicted of threatening and abusive behaviour last year.

He chased his ex-partner’s new boyfriend, shouting threats to kill him, and called his ex-girlfriend while intoxicated, insulting her new partner as a “p***y” and a “rat c***.” Later, neighbours witnessed shouting from outside their home.

When police arrived after midnight, Douglas was arrested after being seen throwing a traffic cone at the window of his ex’s house.

He appeared in court, admitting to threats and dangerous behaviour.

During sentencing, the court was told Douglas had violated his bail conditions in dramatic fashion by returning to the property in June 2025, armed with a knife and shovel, and damaging the ex’s car with the shovel while she and her partner stayed inside.

He also assaulted two neighbours attempting to intervene.

For this second offence, he received an order to complete 180 hours of unpaid work.

His solicitor highlighted that Douglas had since become alcohol-free and expressed remorse, stating the incident served as a wake-up call.

Sheriff Mark O’Hanlon ordered him to complete an additional 135 hours of community service within six months.

A three-year non-harassment order remains in place to protect his ex-wife and her new partner.
