ST BOSWELLS MAN GIVEN NIGHT-TIME CURFEW FOR DOMESTIC OFFENCES
A 47-YEAR-OLD man who admitted two domestic-related offences has been given a night-time curfew at his St Boswells home for the next four months.Allen McDermott pleaded guilty to charges of threatening behaviour and breaching a non-harassment order on July 13.
Ruaridh Allison, prosecuting, told Selkirk Sheriff Court the accused and his partner were waiting at a bus stop at 11.30am but they had an argument and McDermott left the scene with the woman getting on the bus on her own.
He turned up at her house in the evening but became abusive and called her offensive names.
Mr Allison said he then demanded she go to the Co-op and buy him cigarettes which she obliged.
He continued: "When she returned, he was now intoxicated and the behaviour he had started earlier continued towards her.
“The police were contacted.” Officers turned up but McDermott had left and the woman was visibly upset.
Sheriff Robert Fife imposed a restriction of liberty order between the hours of 9pm and 7am for the next four months.
