KIRKCALDY MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL CONTENT DOWNLOAD
A man from Kirkcaldy named Alexander McIlravie, aged 21, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to be sentenced after admitting to downloading an indecent video involving a young child and an adult.
The offense took place between December 12, 2021, and April 27 of the following year.
Police searched his residence on April 27, and after seizing his mobile phone, they discovered a video categorized as B, showing a young male child aged between three and six being subjected to a sexual act by an adult.
The prosecution was led by Isma Mukhtar.
McIlravie, a first offender, was represented by defense lawyer Martin McGuire, who argued that McIlravie is young and eager to address his criminal behavior.
Sheriff Mark Allan sentenced him to three years of offender supervision via a community payback order and also placed him on the sex offenders register for three years.
