    ALEX PENMAN SENTENCED IN LEICESTER FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL

    In May 2014, Alex Penman, who has no fixed address, was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty to charges of rape and assault by penetration.

    The 53-year-old Penman received a prison sentence of seven years and six months for the rape conviction, with an additional five-year term for assault by penetration. Both sentences will be served concurrently.

    The court also imposed a lifetime Sexual Offender’s Prevention Order, which prohibits him from living in the same house or having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16.

    The sexual assault took place at a residence in south Leicestershire while the victim was attending a house party hosted by a friend.

    A detective involved in the investigation commended the victim for her bravery throughout the trial and encouraged other victims of sexual crimes to come forward and seek help.
