MAN JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS FOR HISTORIC ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS
A man has received a seven-year prison sentence after being convicted of sexually abusing two young girls during the 1990s in Luton.Alex Henney, originally from Kenagh in County Longford, carried out multiple sexual assaults on the girls between 1995 and 1997.
Henney, who was living in Luton when the offenses occurred, was sentenced at Luton Crown Court on Friday (4 March).
He was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault on a child.
The investigation was conducted by Bedfordshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable Persons (PVP) unit, which was initiated following a disclosure made to authorities in 2018.
After a thorough investigation, Henney was extradited from Ireland to the United Kingdom to stand trial.
