CONVICTED PAEDOPHILE ALBERT DYSON EVADES POLICE FOR 19 YEARS
Paedophile Albert Dyson, aged 59, revealed last night how he spent 19 years evading police and social services.Dyson moved houses, changed jobs, and even went abroad to conceal his past.
After being tracked down by The Mirror, he admitted: "I've tried to keep my whereabouts hidden from people because I don't want to be persecuted.
I have been hounded by the police for 20 years." He also boasted of going on holiday with a young boy after being released from prison for sex assaults on him.
Dyson stated: "I told the probation officer I was going for a couple of months holiday abroad with him.
They tried to stop him but we went anyway.
I told them they couldn't stop me going and they couldn't stop him."Dyson was among 28 individuals named in a report on Britain's worst child abuse scandal, which prompted checks by councils and charities to ensure they were not employed in jobs involving children.
Despite his conviction for sexually assaulting a teenager three times, Dyson is not required to disclose his current address.
The abuse occurred in 1978 at Bryn Estyn care home in Wrexham, well before sex offender registries were introduced.
Dyson was sentenced to 18 months in 1981, and while in prison, he met fellow sex offender Gary Cooke.
After police raids on his Rhyl home, Dyson moved to Wrexham with Cooke, then to Portugal to run a restaurant, before returning to Britain in the mid-'90s and buying a house in Manchester.
Confronted yesterday, Dyson claimed that the victim was not really a child and suggested he was not a danger, saying, "Sexually I'm very confused, but I do like the company of younger males." He admitted to being prosecuted and cleared of indecent assault on a 16-year-old boy two years prior but has otherwise claimed to have not committed any offenses since 1980.
Dyson expressed confusion about being tracked down now, saying, "I can't understand why I need to be tracked down now.
I've committed no offence since 1980.
That’s 20 years, you don't serve that long for a life sentence."
