SCOTLAND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OFFENDER ALAN CROZIER SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK ON NEW MUM
These are the horrific injuries a new mother received at the hands of her violent partner, Alan Crozier, while their baby daughter was just feet away.Ashley Gebbie, 37, was subjected to a sickening assault just three weeks after giving birth, with her appalled family posting pictures of her injuries on social media to shame Crozier.
The attack happened at their home in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, where Crozier, 33, left for work at 9 am on July 17 but did not return home until approximately 2:30 am the following day.
Crozier, who had been in a 13-month relationship with Ashley, admitted to attacking her and is facing jail after his court hearing.
He was arrested at a relative’s home in Glasgow after the assault.
Ashley suffered two black eyes, extensive bruising to her head and neck, and damage to one of her eye sockets.
Her injuries were severe enough that her family shared upsetting images and called for justice, describing Crozier as a "violent, low-down scumbag." The court heard that Crozier only stopped beating Ashley when she picked up their baby daughter.
She feared for her life during the attack when Crozier, who had been drinking, unleashed blows on her, and only ceased when she desperately held her baby.
Crozier then left, saying he wouldn’t return and would kill himself.
He was subsequently remanded in custody and due to be sentenced for the assault.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident was an unprovoked violent attack on Ashley, who had recently given birth, and praised her bravery in contacting police immediately.
The court address noted Crozier had left for work in the morning and only returned in the early hours, with his actions happening while their three-week-old child was present.
The case has drawn condemnation from local officials, emphasizing the abhorrent nature of domestic abuse.
Crozier faces jail after admitting the assault, and his case is pending sentencing.
