MARYPORT MAN JAILED FOR ASKING TEENAGE GIRL FOR SEX

Aiden Farish, aged 30, of Victory Crescent, Maryport, was sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple offences.

He asked a teenage girl to perform a sex act and communicated sexually with her, which caused her mental health issues including nightmares and fear of bumping into him.

Farish also breached a restraining order banning contact with the victim.

He has 18 previous offences but none of a sexual nature.

At Carlisle Crown Court, Judge Michael Fanning sentenced him to 12 months in jail and ordered him to register as a sex offender for ten years.

Restraining orders were also issued to ban any contact with the victim indefinitely.
