A RAPIST who attacked a young mum after offering to help her was yesterday jailed for five years.
The victim had been on a night out with friends but had forgotten her purse.
The 20-year-old woman went to get it from a pal's flat and Adrian Sellar, 34, offered to go with her, the High Court in Edinburgh heard.
The woman told the court that they were 'having a laugh' on the way to the flat, and Sellar was trying to hold her hand.
He was also asking her out on a date.
But he turned vicious and raped her when they reached the house in Kirkcaldy.
Sellar then walked back with her to the pub as if nothing had happened, but on the way, the victim called her boyfriend on her mobile.
Sellar was arrested following a scuffle with her boyfriend.
He denied rape but a jury found him guilty.
