MAN RAPED AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED YOUNG GIRL
A convicted paedophile who raped and sexually assaulted a young girl, and possessed indecent images of children, has been sentenced to prison.
Adam Such, 21, of Prislow Fields in Falmouth, was handed an 11-year and two-month prison sentence at Truro Crown Court on Friday, April 1.
He was convicted of multiple charges, including the sexual assault of a girl under 13, the rape of a girl under 13, and possession of indecent images.
Such admitted to three counts of possessing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, which occurred between April 29, 2021, and May 28, 2021, at Exeter.
He was also charged with the rape of a girl under 13 in May 2021, and engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl under 13 on the same date.
Additionally, he faced charges related to the sexual exploitation of a child under 13 through involvement in pornography on May 9, 2021.
Such initially pleaded not guilty at magistrates court but later changed his plea to guilty, leading to his sentencing at Truro Crown Court last week.
A victim impact statement read during the hearing described Such's actions as having a "devastating" impact on the family.
He was also placed under a sexual harm prevention order until further notice, required to sign the sex offender register, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge.
