COVENTRY MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE CHILD SEX COMMUNICATION
A Coventry man named Adam Rubidge, who attempted to engage in sexual communication with a child by creating fake profiles online and speaking to what he believed to be a 12-year-old girl, has been sentenced to jail.Rubidge sent sexually explicit messages and videos to a decoy from the group DC Hunters, under the impression that he was communicating with a minor.
The incident occurred through Snapchat, where he sent explicit photographs and videos.
Officers from West Midlands Police arrested Rubidge in September last year during a sting operation conducted by DC Exposure.
He was formally charged on January 30, 2024, and later pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child under 13 to view sexual images.
On Monday, August 5, Warwick Crown Court sentenced him to 14 months in prison.
A police spokesman emphasized the importance of reporting suspicions of child sexual exploitation, advising to call 101 or use the textphone service on 18001 101 for those with hearing or speech impairments.
