ADAM PENTACOST SENTENCED IN INVERNESS FOR RAPE AND DRUG TRAFFICKING
A man named Adam Pentacost, who was involved in serious criminal activities in Inverness, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 11 years for his heinous crimes. The sentencing took place at the High Court in Edinburgh, where Lord Doherty presided over the case and made it clear that Pentacost had shown no remorse for his actions.During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Pentacost was responsible for multiple sexual offences, including the rape of two teenage girls. The judge emphasized the predatory nature of his conduct, noting that his actions appeared to be carefully planned. Despite the gravity of his crimes, Pentacost maintained his innocence and expressed no remorse, which the judge highlighted as a significant factor in his sentencing.
The court heard that the 34-year-old man had previously denied a series of charges but was ultimately convicted of two drug-related crimes and five sexual offences. The evidence presented showed that he had been involved in the supply of cannabis and cocaine over a period spanning from June 2020 to August 2022. Specifically, he admitted to being concerned in the distribution of cannabis at an address in Inverness and elsewhere, as well as supplying cocaine between January and August 2022.
One of the most disturbing aspects of the case involved Pentacost's sexual misconduct. He was convicted of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl in 2021, and later raping her after she turned 16 the following year. The victim testified that she was frightened of Pentacost, who had supplied her with drugs, and that her fear was a significant factor in her victimization.
Additionally, Pentacost was found guilty of raping a second teenage girl on three separate occasions at an address in Inverness between September 2021 and July of the following year. The court was informed that police had recovered cannabis and cocaine during a search of a property on Tomnahurich Street in Inverness. Pentacost admitted to being a regular user of cannabis and explained that he had fallen into debt, which led him to associate with the wrong crowd.
Following his conviction, Pentacost was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders' register indefinitely. Police Scotland issued a statement highlighting the extent of his criminal activities, revealing that he had coerced teenage boys and girls into consuming and dealing drugs, and had committed sexual offences against some of them, including rape. Detective Inspector Reuben Lindsay expressed hope that the lengthy sentence would provide some measure of closure for the victims and their families, acknowledging the profound impact of Pentacost's actions.
