OFFENDER JAILED FOR VIOLENT ATTACKS ON EX-PARTNER IN DARLINGTON
Adam Ian Fox, a man previously involved in violent offences on his former partner, was sentenced to 18 months in prison at Durham Crown Court.
His crimes included two recent assaults in Darlington—one on November 27 inside a hotel, where he punched his partner in the face causing a badly bruised face, and another in North Lodge Park on December 18 where he attacked her on a park bench and on the ground.
During the second incident, Fox assaulted her physically, punching, kicking, and strangling her, which was partially captured on CCTV and led to police being called at around 2:45 a.m.
The victim sustained facial scratches, bruising, and redness on her neck, expressing fear of what Fox might do.
Fox, who had a history of violent offences against the same woman, admitted to common assault and assault causing actual bodily harm.
He was also jailed previously for 11 months for attacking an emergency worker, with a release date scheduled for May 20.
During sentencing, Judge James Adkin issued an 18-month sentence to commence after his prior 11-month sentence and imposed a ten-year restraining order prohibiting contact with his former partner.
