SEAHAM PAEDOPHILE TOLD MAN HE WANTED TO RAPE DAUGHTER, 7
A man who believed he was coordinating with a father to assault the latter’s seven-year-old daughter has been sentenced to prison.Anthony Crozier, aged 54, communicated online with a man, promising to bring sweets for the girl and requesting a pair of pants owned by the girl’s nine-year-old brother, as heard in court at Teesside Crown Court.
In fact, the individual Crozier was speaking to was an undercover police officer, and Judge Richard Clews clarified that neither of the children involved actually existed, describing Crozier’s behavior as involving a willing deception.
Crozier, a resident of Seaham, received a six-year prison term, with an additional two years on extended licence, after admitting charges including arranging to commit a child sex offence and possessing indecent images of children.
The judge recounted that Crozier initially contacted the officer through a pornography website on 14 May and openly admitted he was attracted to children aged between one and ten.
The undercover officer informed Crozier about having two children, a seven-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy, and Crozier disclosed what sexual acts he wanted to carry out, the court was told.
During probation interviews, Crozier claimed he did not have a sexual interest in children and was attempting to contact the father for different reasons, a claim the judge dismissed.
The judge emphasized that Crozier posed a significant risk of causing serious harm to children and deemed him a dangerous offender.
A sexual harm prevention order was issued, and Crozier will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
