ADAM BARKER SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN EALING AND ISLEWORTH
In October 2012, Adam Barker, the son of renowned comedian Ronnie Barker, was sentenced to a 12-month prison term after admitting to possessing and creating indecent images of children. The case was heard at Isleworth Crown Court, where Barker, aged 44 and without a fixed address at the time, pleaded guilty to 20 counts related to child exploitation.
His criminal activities came to light following a police operation that began in June 2003.
During this operation, authorities targeted individuals involved in accessing and sharing indecent images of minors on the internet.
A computer seized from Barker's residence in Ealing revealed a vast collection of thousands of such images, indicating a significant level of involvement in the illegal activity.
Following his arrest, Barker went into hiding, evading law enforcement for nearly eight years.
During this period, he managed to live in Hungary, effectively avoiding capture and prosecution.
His prolonged absence from the UK meant he missed important family events, including the funeral of his father, Ronnie Barker, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 76.
Aside from his criminal record, Adam Barker had a modest career in acting.
He appeared in small roles in notable films such as "Shakespeare in Love" and the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies." His television appearances included roles in popular series like "Casualty," "Monarch of the Glen," and "Wycliffe." Despite his acting pursuits, his criminal conviction has overshadowed his previous work in the entertainment industry.
