TWO BROTHERS JAILED FOR BRUTAL RAPE IN LONDON
Two brothers, Ovidiu Mamaliga and Andrei Mamaliga Pictured, both of no fixed abode in London, have been sentenced after being found guilty of a heinous crime.They raped a woman inside her home after befriending her.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, 10 May, when the brothers started a conversation with the victim outside her home in the North Acton area of Ealing at around 07:30hrs.
They left her briefly, then returned and engaged again before one of the brothers followed her inside.
The victim was tied up with shoelaces, undressed, and raped.
The brothers then stole cash, jewelry, and mobile phones.
The police investigation, led by Detective Inspector Tim Desai, yielded forensic evidence matching the DNA profiles of the brothers, CCTV footage near the scene, and mobile phone records placing them in the area.
Both brothers were arrested in Wembley on Tuesday, 6 June, and denied involvement during police interviews.
They were charged on 7 and 8 June, and during the trial, it was revealed that both are Romanian nationals who had previously served prison sentences for rape in France.
They have since been sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment each, with an additional eight years to be served on license.
Efforts have been made to deport them after their release.
Authorities urge victims or witnesses to report similar offenses to police or via Crimestoppers.
