2007: CHRISTOPHER EDWARDS JAILED FOR SEX ATTACKS ON BOY
A man responsible for multiple sexual assaults on a young boy in Dudley has received a prison sentence of three and a half years.
Following his brothers’ convictions for similar crimes, Dennis Edwards was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was permanently prohibited from working with children.
During his trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Edwards, aged 54, was found guilty on three counts of indecent assault against a boy under 14 years old.
He was the final of three siblings to be imprisoned for offenses involving the same underage victim.
Judge Nicholas Webb addressed Edwards, who resides in Darwen, Lancashire, stating that the young victim experienced significant emotional harm due to the offending.
The court was informed through reports that Edwards presents a risk of causing future harm to children, and the judge noted a lack of remorse or insight into his actions.
It was also revealed on August 10 that Edwards had previously been convicted and sentenced at Preston Crown Court for additional indecent assault charges committed after the Dudley case.
His brothers, Thomas Edwards, 56, from Yew Tree Road, Dudley, and Christopher Edwards, from Aberystwyth, each received three-year terms for their respective involvement.
