ABERYSTWYTH MAN HANDED COMMUNITY ORDER FOR ATTEMPTED SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH A CHILD
A man from Aberystwyth received a community order from the magistrates after admitting to attempting to communicate sexually with a minor.Cameron McWilliams, residing at 2 Laura Place, appeared in Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on 26 November.
The 21-year-old pleaded guilty earlier to trying to engage in sexual communication with a child during the period from 17 June to 11 July last year in Aberystwyth.
The magistrates sentenced McWilliams to a three-year community order, which includes participation in rehabilitation programs and completing 240 hours of unpaid work.
He is also required to remain on the sex offenders register for five years and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same duration.
Additionally, McWilliams is ordered to pay £85 in costs and a surcharge of £114.
